One of the main motivating reasons I finally jumped into this specific effort to launch my lifelong desire to write for an audience, for you, was because
I want to find people who want to work with me… no one dictating what or how we have to live our one immediate life, growing ourselves, our purpose, and bringing more insight and love to day to day choices, no limits.
Pretty much that’s it… lol. I want to find the people who want their life to get to the next level, who will think of me when they need something I know about and can help with. I want you to know I’m here, and I want to know you’re out there.
I’ve reached the point where being an independent working artist needing to cover every month’s nugget no longer sustains my life in a way that satisfies me. My art has always been better when I’m working like Einstein, with a foot in the clerk’s office, dealing in the world of business. We are at the best place we’ve been in for sensing the synchronicity needed to feed our souls, grow our communities, and find our people.
I’ve worked for the last thirty+ years picking up a progression of jobs to hone in on understanding my purpose: childcare, residence life in college, personal assisting and coaching, university admissions and administration, fundraising and non-profit development, cellular sales, and now I’m a life insurance broker. ( You were expecting something ultra-romatic, weren’t you?) Turns out this is among the most romantic, practical, exciting enterprises I’ve yet worked in. Something like finally kissing the toad and finding my prince. For you guys, it’s like freeing the ugly hag from her curse and finding yourself the loveliest maiden.
I reached my zenith in 2019, working admissions and community development in little Waldorf schools, while my daughter attended mixed-age Kindergarten class. It was divinely orchestrated. But not without it’s problems. My whole life took on a radical perceptual shift, which I’m sorting through writing here, and over a few months the whole world jumped on the crazy train with me. Now I’m figuring out how to homeschool my only child, AND work, AND stay creative. Sound familiar?
When I was a girl in southcentral Alaska, my dream was to live alone in a very simple little cabin, with irises growing by the front step, white aspens quivering over the doorway, amidst a grove of birch trees, while writing grand, compelling, full of heart and soul stories.
But I needed something to write about, so I set out into the world to find adventure.
And oh boy, have I found it. Complete with fire-breathing dragons and witchy potions.
As a born and raised Alaskan now living in western New York (of all states it’s the western part that saves me), I’m in the sweet spot and would love to find the kinda people who vibe with me.
